Songless Difficulty — How Hard and Easy Modes Work

Songless is self-scaling: the difficulty is the clip length you accept. Here is how the ladder works and how to push it either way.

The 0.1-second ladder IS the difficulty

Every round starts at 0.1 seconds — one drum hit or one vowel. Wrong guesses and skips unlock 0.5s, 1s, 2s, 5s, then the full preview. Solving at shorter clips is the expert mode; the same puzzle is easy if you skip to the full song.

Make it harder

• Commit at 0.1s. The daily rankings reward first-guess solves.
• Pick your category. Hip Hop days lean modern hits; Rock days skew classic.
• Practice at speed in our practice mode — same ladder, thousands of songs.

Make it easier

Skip early instead of guessing blind — one skip doubles your audio for a single guess slot. Our daily hints give year, artist initial and genre before any reveal.
